Are you trying to achieve greatness or avoid disappointment?
Brendan Lee Mulligan
We've been led to believe that our lives will always ascend...and are shocked to discover they oscillate instead. Our society tells us we should be basking in progress, but our experience tells us we are beset by slip-ups.

Per Kanter’s Law, “Everything can look like a failure in the middle”.
Remember that failure is an event, not a person.

Mark Patterson added in his book The Unfair Advantage "so stop calling yourself one".
You have been criticizing yourself for years and it hasn't worked. Try approving of yourself and see what happens.
Louise Hay
The price of inaction is far greater than the cost of a mistake.
Meister Eckhart
Life can be complicated at times. But the challenges you face are the same ones that billions of people have encountered throughout history. Those who have conquered the obstacles before them, whether personal or professional, have one thing in common. They never gave up. Neither should you!
Admiral William H. McRaven in The Hero Code
Grandfather says this: “Being strong means taking one more step toward the top of the hill, no matter how weary you may be. It means letting the tears flow through the grief. It means to keep looking for the answer, though the darkness of despair is all around you. Being strong means to cling to hope for one more heartbeat, one more sunrise. Each step, not matter how difficult, is one more step closer to the top of the hill. To keep hope alive for one more heartbeat at a time leads to the light of the next sunrise, and the promise of a new day.”
Joseph M. Marshall III in Keep Going: The Art of Perseverance

Peaks and Valleys by Spencer Johnson, MD
The Gap and the Gain by Dan Sullivan and Benjamin Hardy
The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale
As a Man Thinketh by James Allen
Lemonade and Silver Linings by Joy
The Big Leap by Gay Hendricks
(This is basically a self sabotage 2.0 book. If you are new to this idea go through a few other "self help" resources and then come back to this book . If you want to jump right into this book, I suggest that you read or listen all the way through once then go back and listen to and apply chapter by chapter, or read/listen all the way through a chapter then go back through that one to really hear and apply.)
Evolve Your Brain by Dr. Joe Dispensa
(Specifically Chapter 6 the section on Have New Experiences and Chapter 7 the section Chemistry and Repetition explains what happens in your brain and body as you learn something new. This helps makes new things less "scary" and help you realize that you aren't failing, but learning.)
The Art of the Impossible by Steven Kotler
(I suggest listening all the way through then go back and "do" each section. I took "forever" doing because I was struggling and learned later that the answers were already there. Don't make the same mistake.)
Answering the Who Am I Question by Joy
Be Your Future Self Now (Free Kindle Version) - Dr Benjamin Hardy
Effortless by Greg McKeown - Chapter 7 specifically
